Forming Focus—Mark Rose, Vice President/General Manager,
MIM US Operations
Hired June 1st of this year as the new Vice President/General Manager of
AFT's Metal Injection
Molding (MIM) US Operations, Mark Rose brings a great deal of knowledge
about metal technology. A 16-year veteran of PCC-Structurals, his most recent
position prior to coming over to AFT was with PCC's large Titanium plant
in Portland, Oregon.
A native of Portland, Mark attended Oregon State University, where he earned
degrees in both Industrial Engineering and Business Administration. This year,
he also finished graduate studies and earned his MBA from the University of
Oregon.
According to Mark, while addressing the challenges and opportunities of the
MIM process makes his work exciting, it's the people at AFT that make
the job particularly rewarding.
"Here at PCC-AFT, I enjoy the high level of creativity, camaraderie
and positive, "can-do" attitude of the people I work with," Mark
says. "And it's our dedicated and talented employees, along with
our superior technology, strong customer relationships and ability to develop
complex parts concurrently with our customers that I believe sets us apart
from our competition."
A leader both in and outside of the workplace, when Mark isn't helping
to shape the direction of AFT's MIM US operations, he's helping
to shape the direction of young people by coaching youth sports. Describing
himself as a big football and baseball fan, he's also been the commissioner
of a fantasy football league for the past five years.
A man of many activities, Mark says he also enjoys camping, skiing and hiking.
"My family and I love to spend time on the Oregon coast, where beachcombing
and crabbing are some of our favorite activities," he says.
Excited about the opportunities for MIM in various industries, Mark has set
his sights on the aerospace and medical markets as areas of potential growth.
In addition, he's set as his goal to make AFT the undisputed leader in
MIM technology.
"My hopes for the future are to successfully penetrate the aerospace
and medical markets, as well as to ensure top-line sales growth of 20
percent per year," Mark says. "But most important, I want to help
make PCC-AFT a place where people are proud to come to work."
