Aaron Allina recently joined AFT as Manufacturing
Manager of the ThixoForming™ Division. Although he has only been with the
company a short time, Allina is no stranger to the industry. Before joining
AFT in July, Allina worked at PCC Structurals in Oregon. He has a degree
in Material Science and Engineering from Washington State University, as
well as several years experience in the field.
In the months that Allina has worked at AFT, he has had the opportunity
to learn about ThixoForming™ and its applications. "I think ThixoForming™
definitely has the potential to become a very diversified
business." Allina sees the potential to expand into new markets, such
as aerospace. "There are many possible applications and I am still
learning where we might go."
Enthusiasm is part of Allina's approach to his work and to life in general. "I
like doing everything," he replied when describing his hobbies and
interests. Some favorite activities include skiing, snowboarding, and soccer.
Allina and his wife are in the process of moving to the Westminster area
of Colorado and he is looking forward to enjoying the mountains and natural
beauty of the state.
Environment and safety are important to Allina. He plans to bring more
attention to those issues in his role. AFT is already working to protect
and improve the environment, such as recycling scrap and training employees
in the proper handling of magnesium and other volatile materials. "Those
issues will become a bigger focus," Allina stated.
Allina is a solid supporter of the team approach. "I don't think
any one person can drive the business to where it needs to go," he
shared. "It needs to come from a team effort with input from everyone
involved."
As part of AFT's team, Allina is happy to be on board and is looking forward
to diversifying the business and achieving maximum consistency in part
quality. Allina has challenged himself to bring AFT's ThixoForming™ operation
to a level of big business performance while still maintaining the small
business culture. "I want to get the systems in place for consistent
performance," Allina explained. He is looking forward to the coming
months and understanding where the ThixoForming™ technology might take them. |
