Colorado Time - Interview

Anita Sayed

Colorado Time Systems (CTS) CEO, Anita Sayed, is pleased with the accomplishments of 2005 and says that 2006 promises to be another great year.

China

"After setting up our Hong Kong office in 2004," Sayed said, "we were able to make headway this year in China, which is the largest emerging market in the world." At the same time, CTS entered into an agreement with the China Swim Association, which means all member organizations will use CTS equipment at their venues.

"We ran several national meets in China," said Sayed, "and CTS is now recognized there as the company that should be used. Our experience in China has been extremely successful."

South East Asia

CTS formed alliances with several U.S. companies that didn't have a presence in Asia and partnerships with key manufacturers. Through these alliances, CTS set up a complex in Manila, handling not only the timing and scoring, but also the construction of the pool itself, including bulkhead, filtration system and gutter, and pool liner.

The facility in Manila, at Trace College Los Banos, was built to host the aquatic events for the SEA (South East Asian) Games, and is now one of the premier aquatic facilities in South East Asia. "This gave us a head start in a lot of Asian cities," Sayed said.

The president of the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association, Inc. gave CTS an outstanding recommendation, saying "Colorado did great in the 23rd Southeast Asian Games!" He added, "Your people that installed and operated the system are special too. They are friendly, efficient, non-nonsense experts, and great teachers to boot . . . My hope is to see more Colorado systems installed throughout Asia as part of our plan to modernize aquatic sports in our continent." (See the complete letter.)

Minor League Baseball

Domestically, CTS also entered new territory, as its display division, CDS, became involved in minor league baseball. "We hope to work with a lot more baseball organizations," said Sayed. "This paved the way for 2006. CTS accomplished everything we set out to accomplish in 2005."

2006

As far as 2006 goes, the future is bright, said Sayed. "We plan to expand farther in China by opening offices in Shanghai and Beijing and increasing our staffing in China."

CTS' international presence won't stop there. South America is a marketing target in 2006. "We've hired Spanish-speaking employees to cater to this market," Sayed said. "This will make our marketing efforts in South America much more effective."

In addition, CTS will be developing new products in 2006. "We want to keep pushing the edge of technology," Sayed said. "This means many new innovations and new concepts. We will lean heavily on our technology board and advisors in this process."

As always, CTS strives to improve customer service and satisfaction in 2006. "In our latest customer satisfaction poll, the numbers were extremely high," said Sayed, "but there is always room for improvement."
