As you view the photos, keep in mind that at no time can any swimmer use the bottom of the pool. The "team competition" consisted of teams of eight swimmers each. During the lifts, the athletes above the water are supported by their teammates under the water.

Athletes from the National Teams of Aruba, Israel and Puerto Rico also participated in the competition with exhibition routines as honorary guests. The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is recognized separately from the United States by FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation), the governing body of international aquatic sports (excluding the Olympics).

The Championships were hosted by the Coral Springs (Fla.) Aquacades at the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex April 26-29, 2006. The event scoring was facilitated by a CTS System 5 and judging terminals.
