Professional Health Services Delivers a One-Two Punch

PHSProfessional Health Services (PHS) provides mobile services in support of OSHA-mandated medical compliance programs or corporate employee-wellness initiatives. We spoke with PHS President Mike Kleinman about how PHS uses its Mobile Minutes eNewsletter and Mobile Alert eFlier to stay in the spotlight with customers and prospects.

Delivering a one-two punch

PHS started delivering an eNewsletter almost two years ago to keep its name in front of clients and prospective customers. Said Kleinman, "Many of our customers buy our services annually rather than every week, month or quarter. With prospects, timing is important — one-time blasts can hit too far ahead of or behind the curve. Our original concept for the eNewsletter was to be proactive with prospects, keeping our name in front of them every couple months so that when their business cycle comes up, they'll think to contact us."

What prompted PHS to expand into eFliers? "With the eFliers, we can give targeted groups a call to action," Kleinman said. "The outcomes are different. The eNewsletter establishes the credibility of our organization; we get a lot of compliments from readers. Along with Mobile Minutes, the eFlier gives us a one-two punch."

eFliers vs. direct mail

PHS is in the process of evaluating the results of eFliers compared with other forms of blast marketing. Right from the start, the company has been able to compare eFlier costs with those of direct-mail campaigns. "From a marketing standpoint," said Kleinman, "direct mail is considerably more expensive. To put out 30,000 pieces at bulk rates is $7,200 in postage alone. I can put out a lot of eFliers for that price, and get more targeted result information."

Using readership reports to manage lists

PHS works with several list companies to grow its target reader list. Kleinman hopes that by using the Mobile Minutes and Mobile Alert readership statistics, he'll be able to realize a greater return on that investment.
