Facet Fixation System Workshop Held at AANS

Our first Facet Fixation System workshop, held on April 23, 2006, in San Francisco, was a smashing success! Ziya Gokaslan, M.D., Vice-Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery and Director of the Neurosurgical Spine Program at Johns Hopkins, kicked off the program with Facet Fusion history and a comprehensive literature review.

Mark Falahaee, M.D., of the Michigan Brain & Spine Institute and also the inventor of the Facet Fixation Device did an outstanding job generating a deeper understanding of the benefits and indications of facet fixation using the US Spine Facet Fixation System.

Last, but certainly not least was the biomechanics presentation given by Lisa Ferrara, DEng., President of Orthokinetic Technologies. Her top-notch presentation generated an in-depth discussion and tremendous group interaction, but it left the audience with a thirst for more.

While US Spine received positive feedback from each and every participant, we have taken steps to improve upon our current training to allow for added flexibility and convenience. Stay tuned for details on this whirlwind training program to be held at distinguished hospitals nationwide, this fall!
